Q: Can the SG5 give me the distance to the pin?
A: The SkyCaddie, using the IntelliGreen graphics found on our professionally recorded SkyCourses, provides more information than just the distance to the pin. Once the line of play is selected on the graphical green outline, it provides the minimum carry to get on the green, the maximum limit you have to the back of the green, plus you can adjust to obtain the third distance of the approximate flag location. All three distances are provided simultaneously from any direction as you approach the green. You can then frame your shot in a much larger target area and select the best club. You will hit more greens and have shorter putts than a single number can provide.

Lower your scores
Using the SkyCaddie SG5 has lowered my golf scores from 5 to 7 strokes per round. It makes me more confident with my club selection and my swing. For the price it makes more difference than any club I have ever purchased. It may be me or my mental processes but it takes some getting used to and seems at time complicated. BUT IT WORKS!!!

Why I fired my SkyCaddie
SkyCaddie SG5 Golf GPS (Black)

Product does not work as described. I have had two SkyCaddies, both of which did not work. Not at all a reliable product - especially for serious golfers.

May want to consider a rangefinder or other products that will not let you down when you need it.

Poor customer service experiences led to the reason "I fired my SkyCaddie"

Effective planning tool
This GPS is great for planning shots into all types of greens. It's great for finding different points on greens to plan approach shots, but if you use all the features you can find out how far you hit each individual club in your bag during the course of play. Anyone who likes burning cash or would like to dial in their game completely should consider a SkyCaddie, I've tried nearly everything else and this is the best.

SkyCaddie SG5 great, the golf store inc. not so much
The SkyCaddie SG5 has surpassed my expectations on the golf course and is the easiest GPS product to use that I have seen. I highly recommend this product to all golfers interested in accurate information while on the course. It will help your golf game.

I would not however recommend purchasing this product from the Golf Store. I purchased this product on April 2, 2009 received an email of the product shipping on April 3 USPS Priority. After 2 emails asking when I would receive the product, I finally received it on April 15. I was told that if I wanted better shipping service, to next time order products to ship FedEx !! I went to my local USPS and asked about the shipment twice within that time frame. I was told by the USPS that even though the shipper was issued a shipping ticket on April 3, that the shipper may not have deposited the shipment with USPS at that time. Sounds like a lot of finger pointing with the purchaser ( us ) caught in the middle.
Who would have thought that USPS Priority shipping would mean 12 days ??

I have purchased and had shipped USPS other items online without this headache.I'll continue to purchase golf items online, but not from The Golf Store.

Works well
I purchased the SG5 4 months ago. I am very pleased with the purchase from Amazon.

I use it on my home course and it works well. It is not really necessary as I am familiar with the course and distances.

I find it most useful on courses that I don't know well. Showing distances to and over fairway bunkers along with the distance to the front, center and back of the greens is invaluable for courses you don't know well.

Set up and use is very easy. I am very happy with it.

Can no longer change courses in SkyCaddie 2.5 memory
I fought two laptops today, one with Windows XP Pro and Norton Internet Security, and the other with Windows Vista Home Premium and Norton 360. After listing SkyCaddie Desktop as an exception in both firewalls (Windows and Norton) on both computers, I still couldn't sync my SkyCaddie 2.5, in any of four USB ports on both computers. It just sat there after telling me it had found the SkyCaddie on port 4, until it went back to a meaningless home page on the SkyGolf web page. It didn't matter if I logged into my account or not, but the account did come up and my favorite courses were listed, but I could not change the complement of ten courses actually installed in my SkyCaddie. The display on the SkyCaddie said it was ready to roll, but never did say it was communicating with the PC. I also uninstalled the version of Sync, and downloaded the latest one 5.2.2 to no avail. What a bummer. If they don't get this fixed, they are toast. Please write if you can help!

Works as it is supposed to
SkyCaddie SG2.5 Golf GPS (Black)
I purchased this device as a replacement for my (dead; not Skycaddie's fault) Skycaddie 2.0. The 2.5 is less bulky. The screen is easy to read outside in the bright Texas skies. The controls are easy to use. Highly recommended.

Hooked on membership fees
Works good for a year. Then your membership expires and the courses you have downloaded onto the unit disappears. You have to pay per year just to keep the courses you already have working. One course I loaded by recording directly while playing, that one is still there. Other uints do not require the yearly fee to keep previously loaded courses working. I called Customer Support to verify this and waited 20 minutes on hold during a weekday afternoon. This one is going on Ebay.

Great Product Except:
The only problem I have with this products is the instructions on how to operate it. They assume everyone is electronically savvy, unfortunately not all of us are. The directions are confusing and not very helpful for the inexperienced. On the other hand, if you send an email for help they respond very fast. Even though we still can not find out how to change the time it still is a very valuable tool on the course.

Read the Fine Print on Your License Agreement
Before you purchase this product you need to be sure you understand their licensing plan for course data. I have used an SG2 for two years and I was very pleased with its performance on the golf course. You can read other reviews that I am sure will testify that it is a wonderful tool to have on the course. I went out today to play for only the second time this year. When I turned the SkyCaddie on, it gave me a message that said my "membership" expired two weeks ago, what would I like to do? I would like to finish my round of golf. It brought up the course as it always did and worked fine for three holes. On the fourth hole it gave me the same message but when I tried to just continue my round of golf I discovered that my "membership" service had just erased all the data on my SkyCaddie!! I paid for the hardware. I paid for the ten courses it allowed me to have in the unit (I was only using four.) The satellites belong to the Government and we can use them for free. But, because I didn't instantly renew my "membership" they erased my course data!! In my mind, this would be like MicroSoft erasing my Windows XP because I didn't upgrade to Vista. I find this to not only be aggravating but also unethical. I play 90% of my rounds on the same course. However, because I do travel a bit, I purchased their membership that covers the United States. Now I find that if all I ever want to do is to play my home course, I will have to pay them every year to do that, even though it is my hardware and I have paid for the course data. I will not renew. I am going to buy a Golf Buddy. They don't even charge you the first time for the course data and there are no annual renewable "membership" fees.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Can the SG2 give me the distance to the pin?
A: The SG2, using the IntelliGreen graphics found on our professionally recorded SkyCourses, provides more useful information than just the distance to the pin alone. Once the line of play is selected on the graphical green outline, this provides the minimum carry to get on the green, the maximum limit you have to the back of the green, plus you can adjust to obtain the third distance of the approximate flag location using a pinsheet supplied by your course or visual observation. All three distances are provided simultaneously from any direction as you approach the green. You can then frame your shot in a much larger target area and select the best club. You will hit more greens and have shorter putts than a single number can provide.

Q: Does the SG2 automatically come with the courses I want?
A: No, but you have two ways to get the courses you want. First, the SG2 includes a special feature to make it very easy (less than 10 seconds on the green of each hole) to set up your course to measure distances to the green. SkyCaddie also offers three modestly priced membership plans that offer a number of benefits and access to course information on thousands of professionally mapped courses through the SkyGolfGPS website.

SkyCaddie SG2
I have had my SG2 for two years and it has worked without any probelms. The battery allows me to play 36 holes before it requires to be recharged. The only probelm was the rubber cover fell off where you plug in the charge cord, but it's not a big deal. It is very easy to use and to download new courses if you have some computer skills. I have thought about getting a newer model that has color and more info but all I really want to know is simply how far I am from the front, center and back of the green.

SkyCaddie SG2
I have had my SG2 for about a year. I turn mine on just before leaving for the first tee box right after I load my clubs on the cart and by the time I get there I have locked onto all available satelites, usually 8 to 12 satelites and signal strength is at max. Even on the most cloudy days I still have good to fair signal strength and it is still very accurate. Battery life is excellent and have never had a problem, even when playing 27 holes straight. The annual fee to SkyGolf is well worth the money and all of my 4 star courses show each and every hazard, the distance to it and to carry it. It is easily programable and even shows the distance of each shot you make if you want it too. I have yet to have a problem with it. Great aide to my golf game. Thanks

sKY CADDIE FAILURE
I recently ordere a Sky Caddie GPS and three times the product which was supplied was defective. The first one couldn't access the satellites and had to be returned. The second one had three screws in the case missing and fell apart on use. The third one was alreadey used by someone else with a different name programmed and it failde also. I feel that the units were refurbished and not new as advertised, and I felt very disappointed with the Amazon quality control.

For the good players
With the small size and intellgreen feature, this unit is great for good players. I would say that if skygolf has mapped the course, this is the best unit around. Others use pictures of the hole to get the distances and most only give you the front back and center of the green distances. I am not sure were you play, but i play on some interesting shaped greens and need to know how far it is to carry on all parts of the green. I know many have complained that not all bunkers are pointed out, I personly just need the green maped for me. I have had my side button break on me and I can not lock the key pad, but this happend after I map my own course that did not see the benifet of having skygolf map it for them. Most course have to buy a few units to get there coures mapped, but the units that they sell are pre-loaded with the course. $[...] bucks a year may be a bit steep, but golflogic is 30 if you play more than 20 different courses and they use pictures to map. I do not know how you can take a picture and place a gps location on it but I will take a person with a gps unit on there back for me.

Skycaddie Leather Cover
The product is just what I expected so very satisfied. Dealing thru Amazon was excellent. ONLY negative was the cost of the product. Over dollars for a tiny leather cover is ridiculous.

GPS$
we returned this to upgrade to the 5 / but this is a great product

No support if it does not work
Purchased May 08. When connecting out of the box, the web site wanted to upgrade hand held device (which is a normal process). The update crashed leaving me with an inoperable device and the website not recognizing the device anymore. (Check web search and you will see this is a common problem). I spent two weeks trying to contact customer service at skygolf, but over 6 emails went unanswered and phone calls (and long holds) offered no solution. I am stuck with a device that never worked and no customer service from skygolf or amazon.

Good product but do your homework
I purchased my Skycaddie last year and at first, I loved it but as time went on, I noticed some key issues with the unit and with the company. I'm hoping my review will help you decide on your next GPS Golf Rangerfinder.

PROS
* accurate
* uses AA batteries (no worries of running out of battery life)

CONS
* takes over 5 mins to lock on to a satellite
* too many times the screen goes blank if the satellite signal is weak so to fix it, you have to restart or reset the unit. What a pain.
* Yearly membership fees just to download courses (adds to the total cost of the unit). Why should anyone pay when there are units out there that are just as good and don't charge you a fee?
* Not able to keep track of your score, fairways hit, putts, girs, time

CONCLUSION
I will continue to use it until my membership expires then I'll put up for auction. I'm looking to replace it for the Golf Guru which I played with last week. The unit cost less, offers more, no yearly membership fees, and the distances matched exactly the same as my Skycaddie. Right then, I knew Skycaddie was no longer #1 rangefinder in golf. There are many other choices out there, just do your homework.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Huge Dissapointment
Purchased my Sky Caddie in Jan 08. My initial impressions were favorable, but I soon discovered a number of shortcomings.

1. If I had anything short of a full charge, my Sky Caddie was unable to get a satellite lock, rendering it useless for the round.

2. Distances were often inaccurate - often by as much as 15 yards. My observations were based upon known shot lengths at my home club. This caused some issues at clubs where I was not as familiar with the golf course.

3. Customer service - I left 3 messages for customer service reps (no one picked up the phone) and not one was returned.

4. When I asked my club pro about his experience, he indicated that he already had 7 Sky Caddie's turned in by members that did not function properly. His rep indicated that nothing would be done to repair or replace the units.

When the unit worked properly, it was wonderful, especially on a course that was not well known. However, the shortcomings and lack of support are a deal breaker.

Poor power connection design
The threaded power cord connection is poorly designed on the GS4. In time the female threads on the port become stripped. Skycaddie wants between and 0 to return the product for repair. They were not interested in my suggestion that the company back a poorly designed product by covering this defect under warranty. i have found that their customer serve is lacking.

Titleist VOKEY SPIN MILLED w/ steel

Titleist VOKEY SPIN MILLED w/ steel
Manufacturer: Titleist
Product Description:
A classic teardrop shaped wedge with a rougher surface for better spin. Vokey Spin Milled wedges are new from Titleist, and designed to provide a truly discernible performance option - increased spin . By working with Tour players to create wedges that performed under the most challenging major championship conditions, Titleist master craftsman Bob Vokey has developed a precisely machined, tight-tolerance groove that provides the player with increased spin on both full and partial wedge shots. Vokey Spin Milled wedges feature a CNC-machined cut face and grooves. A special circular saw-style cutting tool is used to create precise grooves with a steeper draft angle and a tighter edge radius for increased friction. Vokey Spin Milled wedges also have 30% more groove volume than a conventional wedge. This provides more consistent and higher spin , particularly from grassy lies and wet conditions. Spin Milled gives you the confidence to successfully execute more challenging short game shots.

Titleist 904F FW W/ GRAPH

January 15th, 2009

Titleist 904F FW W/ GRAPH (SHAFT TYPE: Titleist Speeder)

Titleist 904F FW W/ GRAPH (SHAFT TYPE: Titleist Speeder)
Manufacturer: Titleist
Product Description:
Built to the same Tour-inspired standards as their drivers, the Titleist Pro Trajectory 904 fairway metals have been engineered to deliver improved looks, feel and ball flight. Critical to fairway performance is center of gravity (CG) location, and through extensive research and player testing, Titleist designers have been able to optimize the weight distribution in the new 904. By moving the CG lower toward the face and the optimum distance from the shaft axis, the 904 provides both initial launch and downrange ball flight benefits as well as increased ball speed on center face impacts. The 904 launches a full degree higher and spins approximately 400rpm less, providing high launch with a flat downrange flight. The improved CG location slightly decreases dynamic face closure enhancing the high initial launch angle and helping produce optimum ball flight.

Titleist 905R TI DRIVER w/ graphite (SHAFT TYPE: Ys-6+)

Titleist 905R TI DRIVER w/ graphite (SHAFT TYPE: Ys-6+)
Manufacturer: Titleist
Product Description:
Titleist 905R Driver High launch. Low spin. Maximum ball velocity. These are the ingredients to maximize driving distance. These are the performance deliverables built into Titleist Pro Titanium drivers. The 905R is a Tour-proven 460cc pear-shaped titanium driver with shallow face for players seeking the ultimate combination of ball speed, launch angle, spin and forgiveness. The 905R has a 35% larger sweet spot than the 905T and 905S. With an extensive selection of lofts and shafts, Titleist Pro Titanium drivers are capable of optimizing launch conditions for a wide range of serious golfers. Innovative multi-material construction features separate face, body and hosel components. CNC Milled 6061 T-6 aluminum hosel tube replaces bore-thru hosel mass with lightweight, structural aluminum. Weight from the hosel area is redistributed to optimize the CG location and improve launch conditions. Uniformly thin beta titanium face insert and thin outer face flange provide consistent flexibility across the face for higher ball speed and performance on off-center hits. Titanium body with strategic weight pads in the sole and skirt walls optimize CG location. Optimum CG location creates higher ball speed and proper launch angle. Full pear profile with a raised crown logo and scoreline paintfill highlights define the face impact area for better alignment and an outstanding appearance. Bore-Thru design
